Dear Will,

The light was amazing yesterday.

We left our shoes behind and walked over the rocks.

I thought the water would be cold but it was lovely and warm on our feet.

You found some really cool shells and a dead crab to take to show and tell.

Just the two of us.

Mum xo

10 on 10 | April {Brisbane}

10 on 10 is a group project connecting a circle of photographers from around the world.  We each post 10 images on the 10th of each month.

This day out was counted down by number of sleeps for the past week.  Jesse was especially excited to be going to see Hairy Maclary and the gang.  The show was fantastic.  I got my kicks just watching Jesse’s face light up with joy as we clapped along to the music while our favourite storybook characters came to life on the stage.  After lunch we made our way over to the Museum & Sciencentre for a very long afternoon of exploration and ‘fun’ (I use that word loosely).  This is Will’s favourite place in Brisbane.  Did I mention that it’s school holidays here?  C-R-A-Z-Y busy with kids who have energy to burn and parents just trying to keep up.  We worked out a meeting point in case we lost each other, and it was a good thing that we did because Will lost us, twice.  I didn’t take many pictures.  For me, the urge to document the moment soon disappears in the midst of mayhem.  I was exhausted by late afternoon and so grateful that we easily found our car in the unfamiliar building.  Not even bothered by the peak hour traffic, I was just happy to be driving to the relative peace and quiet of home.  Oh the joys of parenting!

Remember to click on the link at the end of this post to keep the circle going.  Thanks so much for taking the time to check out our project.  Jx

Crystal Castle | Mullumbimby, NSW.

We loved visiting the Crystal Castle.  Its lush gardens are nestled in the NSW hinterland, about 40 mins drive from the Gold Coast.  Each garden seemed more beautiful as we followed our map around the grounds.  There is a kids playground near the cafe which meant I could enjoy a coffee while the kids entertained themselves.  The staff are so relaxed and friendly you can’t help but relax too.  The whole place exudes peace and calm. I felt refreshed…until we reached the crystal and gemstone shop where the kids got a little too eager to buy a handful of gemstones each.  We did buy a few.  Mine are on my desk, a lovely reminder of our day.

P. Family | Session Preview

After weeks of rain here on the Gold Coast, we experienced our first sunshiny day with blue skies and golden light.

I hung out with these gorgeous people for a couple of hours and we soaked up every moment of sunshine until the moon was out.

Nicole is a local photographer also and you can find a link to her work here.

Thank you all for being so relaxed and hilariously funny.

A big thank you also to Deb & Noel from Lucky 13 Creative Industries, for allowing us to make pictures among their beautiful wares.

The last photo before the sun was gone and my memory card was full.
